National 3-Minute Student Theses Defense Tournaments
Mehdi Vorseyi announced that the fourth 3-minute national defense thesis tournament was held at the Fajr Amphitheater of Amirkabir University of Technology. Scholarships and more vigorous support from business will be allocated for the winners of this tournament.

Celebrating Father of Biomedical Engineering of Iran
A ceremony honoring Iran's father of medical engineering, Dr. Mohammad Reza Hashemi Golpayegani, was attended by national authorities, professors and students. AUT’s chancellor said: Iran's scientific progress in the field of biomedical engineering is due to the establishment of this department by Professor Hashemi Golpayegani.

Production of Nanogenerators for Medical Applications and Smart Textile Production at AUT
According to the AUT’s public relations office; Dr. Parisa Fakhri, the principal investigator of the project, referred to the focus of industrial and academic centers on the preparation and use of smart materials and said: Piezoelectric materials are among these smart materials with unique properties. This property was first discovered in ceramics; however, due to its disadvantages such as being brittle and fragile its application has been limited, because ceramic brittleness makes them useless for long and large vibrational movements.
In the nanogenerator developed at AUT flexible PVDF polymer and zinc oxide nanorods have been used. The presence of these two material together has increased the piezoelectric and flexibility properties. Meanwhile, the use of Electrospinning technology has reduced the production process and cost of this nanostructure.

Country's Top Three Bridges at the 5th International Bridge Conference
At the 5th International Bridge Conference, a competition for top bridges was held and from 18 design and construction companies in the country three bridges were selected. Mash Vazan Bridge (Road and Transportation Organization), 214km bridge in Isfahan Shiraz Freeway (Iran Infrastructure Construction and Development Company) and Sebalotak cable bridge (Iran Water and Power Resources Development Company) were selected and their designer, consultant, contractor and supervisor were awarded.

Third Session of Selection Workshop at AUT: Seven Maturities for Marriage
Seyed Ali Mohammadpour reported that the third meeting of the Selection Workshop at Amirkabir University of Technology was held with the topic of needed maturities for a successful marriage. The third session of the workshop discussed topics related to the types of financial, emotional, social, personal, cultural, spiritual, religious and sexual maturity for marriage by Hojjat al-Islam Barmaie.
In addition to explaining the types of maturity required for marriage in another section, Hojjat al-Islam Barmaie answered the students' questions about different subjects of courting and marriage. Students can participate in the remaining sessions of these workshops by contacting the Amirkabir Student Organization Administration at jd_aut_admin and register for the rest of the course.

AUT Professor’s Book, The Book of Choice in the Electrical Industry Book Festival
Dr. Georg Gharepetyan's book, a faculty member at Amirkabir University of Technology, was selected at the country's Electrical Industry Books Festival.
According to Public Relations Office of AUT, The Book of Smart Networks and Micro Networks, authored by Dr. George Gharepetyan, was selected as the top publication in this book festival.

AUT Chancellor: Five Faculties of AUT have an Innovation Center
The chancellor of AUT stated that the university is moving towards third generation universities and in this regard up till now 5 faculties have set up an innovation center. He added: Amirkabir University of Technology is also the largest industrial university in the country, it has 14000 students, 18 faculties and 4 schools.

40 AUT Students Were Dispatched to Khaf Villages
According to Amirkabir University of Technology Public Relations, the purpose of this trip to Khaf villages, a deprived area, is for the students to create smart economy, establish sustainable independence in rural development, explore each village's potentials and find employment and entrepreneurship opportunities, develop a business model for working in the countryside and raising funds to launch employment through community partnerships.

AUT Professor; Iran's Bitumen & Asphalt Leader in 2019
Dr. Fereidoon Moghadas Nejad a faculty member of Amirkabir University of Technology, was selected by the Road, Housing & Urban Development Research Center as Iran's leader in bitumen and asphalt industry in 2019.
Prof. Moghadas Nejad has 120 ISI published articles, 30 articles in international and national scientific and research journals, and 180 conference proceedings in domestic and international conferences. He has 23 patents in Iran and one in the US.
He has also so far published 8 books on road and railway engineering and three chapters of a foreign book. He has also been the director of 17 industrial project

AUT’s Health and Sports Counseling Center
The AUT Health and Sports Counseling Center opened with the presence of the Physical Education Director General of the Student Affairs Organization.
Located in AUT’s sports complex, the center is equipped with a variety of body health measuring devices such as fat, blood glucose, endurance, flexibility, heart rate, breathing and movement pattern monitors. The health of the new incoming students is tested at this center.

AUT Hosts Psychological Well-Being Exhibition
The Psychological Well-Being Exhibition was held last week at the Amirkabir University of Technology in collaboration with the Student Health Supporters Association.
AUT’s Counseling Center implemented various programs such as inviting different psychologists, providing counseling services, lectures, workshops, conducting psychological and personality tests in accordance with this week’s slogan of "Mental Health Promotion, Vital Community".

Launch of A Learning Management System for University Courses
Dear Professors and Students, “The E-Learning Management System for In-person Courses” has been launched in November 2019 by the Information and Communication Technology Center of Amirkabir University of Technology and is available for use by the University's E-Learning Center. All undergraduate, postgraduate and doctoral courses from the current semester from the university portal, along with a list of students enrolled in the system are available.
You can visit https://courses.aut.ac.ir and login using your university Teaching Portal username and password. This system is based on the Moodle platform and is designed for asynchronous teacher and student interaction.

Amirkabir University of Technology and Bank of Industry and Mine signed a Memorandum of Understanding to meet the needs and use the potential of AUT.
